Mansfield Youth Pottery Workshop

On 15th July, 15 participants joined in the fun of a beginners pottery workshop delivered by MAD Potters under Mansfield Shire’s Future Proof program
The participants learned the pinch pot method of creating 3D work with clay. As the first project a bird was created by all the participants who, having learned the technique of joining and texturing, went on to explore and use their imagination to each create a number of artworks. 
At the finish of the workshop we had an impromptu exhibition opening with participants’ family and friends, Youth Services staff and of course the artists themselves. 

“We all got to see what we’d achieved during the workshop and it was fun to see how it all looked together”.

MAD Potters + Mansfield Council Pottery Scholarships Program

Mansfield Shire Youth and Future Proof are excited to team up with the Mansfield and District MAD Potters to deliver three Pottery Scholarships through our new CREATE program (Community REbuilding through Art Training and Education).

Open to ages 12 -25.

Each Pottery Scholarship winner will receive the following:

8 Hour Master Potter workshop with award winning potter Fleur Schell

Dinner & Master potter presentation

Breakfast & Master potter presentation

Pottery pack from MAD Potters

1 year membership to MAD Potters (18+) including studio access

Invitation to MAD Potters ‘Poets of Pottery’ opening

Selling opportunity through MAD Potters at Mansfield Pottery Festival ‘Potters Market’

There are three scholarships available.

  • Mansfield Secondary College
  • Mansfield Steiner School
  • Open scholarship awarded by MAD Potters – Winner will be drawn randomly so everyone has a chance!
